Perform duties in support of the highest levels within the organization. Perform responsibilities with discretion, independent judgment, exposure to highly confidential data, using tact and poise. Exhibit considerable latitude and flexibility in carrying out assigned tasks. Screen calls and visitors. Draft correspondence, messages, presentations, and reports and use advanced software packages. Create travel itineraries and adhere to timeframes and deadlines. Supervise and provide work direction to junior secretaries.
-Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Ability to provide routine administrative and clerical assistance, including receiving or screening telephone calls and visitors
-Ability to respond to routine, non-technical requests for information, schedule appointments, and plan for conferences and meetings or presentations, including providing the location, schedule, agenda, and coordinate all other arrangements with staff or participants
-Ability to assist other administrative personnel with office procedures and keep up-to-date on changes in correspondence, messages, reports, forms, filing, mail, training, travel security, and personnel procedures
-Ability to compose routine or non-technical correspondence and prepare reports on administrative support or clerical functions of office
-Ability to submit documents for review and approval to the government on a timetable provided by the government
-Ability to provide support to initiate travel arrangements, travel orders, and prepare vouchers, including the use of the Defense Travel System (DTS)
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-HS diploma or GED
-3+ years of experience with administrative duties
-Experience with Microsoft Project
-BA or BS degree preferred
