Job Description

Our environmental contractor firm provides construction dewatering, remediation, and environmental construction services. This includes dewatering systems design, manufacture, installation, and operation. We offer design and build services for temporary and permanent treatment systems, as well as, operation and maintenance services for soil, groundwater, and wastewater treatment systems.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with previous experience in mechanical design and/or water treatment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review specs, contract/RFP documents, water quality data, and design drawings.
  • Prepare preliminary process designs.
  • Prepare technical submittal packages for review
  • Prepare scope of work documents and design drawings.
  • Review documents and drawings with Project Managers.
  • Assist with developing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), as well as, piping and equipment layout drawings directly from P&IDs.
  • Perform engineering calculations (pumping flow rates, pressure, head loss, etc.).
  • Assist with selecting equipment for new projects and assess its suitability.
  • Evaluate specs from prospective vendors to determine feasibility of proposed equipment units.
  • Assist with integrating unit operations into full-scale manufactured systems.
  • Prepare and submit shop work orders.
  • Help startup and troubleshoot projects.
  • Visit job sites and develop plans for mobilization and demobilization.
  • Help design and develop standard equipment and required documentation.
  • Assist on site with construction, start-up, operation, and maintenance of groundwater and soil remediation systems.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Bachelor s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including MS Project.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Some experience in the environmental field, preferred.
  • OSHA 40-hour training, preferred.
  • Valid driver s license.
