The CCDC Armaments Center provides a unique experience in a fast-paced yet business casual environment. * The Systems Engineer position supporting the Battlespace Applications Branch of the Tactical Effects, Protection & Interactive Technologies division provides a unique opportunity to support the development of leading-edge technologies addressing key issues affecting national security. Professional development is encouraged and expected.Day-to-day activities of the Systems Engineer include: * System requirements development and documentation * Algorithm development * Integration and test * Participate in all phases of system development from conceptual design through field demonstrations and test events. * Participate in design review meetings, interact with Integrated Product Teams, hardware and software developers, integrators, test range personnel, and the intended user community. * Occasionally, you will travel with the development team to military test ranges to conduct site visits or testing and evaluation activities for commercial and/or military systems.TASKS A Systems Engineer is required to provide program support to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (CCDC-AC) Battlespace Applications Branch Precision Radars Team at Picatinny, NJ. The Systems Engineer will conceive, develop, evaluate and test real-time algorithms for automated sensor-enabled weapon systems. This Systems Engineer will: * Draw upon expertise in sensor data fusion, analysis, and complex problem-solving skills to prototype algorithms in MATLAB prior to being deployed to real-time systems. * Assist project and system engineering team leads in translating customer or project end-state requirements and to derive technical system requirements and propose engineering solutions * Lead teams of sensor and weapon experts to solve system-level problems * Interface with Battlespace Applications Branch Chief and technical leads; Integrated Product Team Leads (IPT) and customers within CCDC-AC to inform algorithm design * Support and participate in the demonstration and test events at DoD test ranges across the USREQUIREMENTS * B.S. in a relevant technical discipline * 5 years of relevant data analysis experience * Must have a highly technical background in diverse applications to understand complex problems and provide solutions by performing analysis and algorithm development * Demonstrated proficiency in MATLAB * Desire to contribute to research and development of programs focused on future weapon systems * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team * US citizenship * Ability to secure a security clearance * Good communication skills (oral and written) * Ability to work in a team environmentDesired Qualifications: * Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics * Experience and proficiency in Kinematics (e.g., Kalman filters), Ballistics, Motion Dynamics, Coordinate Frame transformations, and weapon/target state prediction * Proficiency/familiarity in C, C++, or other programming languages and analytical software * Department of Defense Secret clearanceTravel: up to 50% travel depending on the project Shift: Day Shift LOCATION: Picatinny, New Jersey CLEARANCE: Current DoD Secret Clearance (requires US Citizenship) APPLY: Online at Ideal Innovations, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status.
